A DIVE INSTRUCTOR WITH PASSION

I was sitting on the beach of Cozumel spending my time watching the divers board a boat in the early morning and watch them return and could only imagine the sites they had seen. I was a snorkeler and always had the dream of becoming a diver. Before our next trip out, my wife (who is also my dive buddy) and I started the journey of becoming divers in late October of 2016, diving the cold waters of British Columbia. It was only if my dive buddy would complete the course, that I would continue my journey as a diver, because we all need a buddy to dive with. We completed the course and travelled to our first destination in the tropics, only to discover we both wanted more…. More training, plus more time under the water.

Both of our journeys in the world of diving did not stop there, we did our Advanced Open Water in Bonaire and really discovered a passion for diving. We continued with our diving as buddies, completing our Rescue Scuba Diver. Sheila (my wife and dive buddy) stopped at Rescue, even though it was so much fun and still so much to learn. I continued with my Master Diver and then on to Dive Master. I found something only you can experience through doing and seeing with your own eyes. I knew I had to share this passion and became an instructor. The Credo of NAUI is "the loved one"

“An individual should not be qualified as a NAUI Instructor unless those empowered to qualify the person would allow that person to teach their loved ones to dive”

I believe in that Credo and I will teach all of my students with the proper knowledge, passion and skill needed to start the journey of becoming a diver , because really “ Don’t tell someone your dreams , show them!”
